The Department of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Eastern University Pharma Club (EUPC), successfully celebrated World Pharmacists Day 2025 from 22–25 September 2025 through a series of academic and co-curricular programs.
The celebration featured Debate, Hunt for Host, Poster Presentation, Quiz, Indoor Games.
On 24 September, the day began with a Rally and Tree Plantation, which was honored by the presence of Professor Md. Shamsul Huda, Treasurer, Eastern University, along with faculty members and students. This initiative symbolized unity, awareness, and commitment to a healthier environment.
Following the rally, the Pharma Talk Seminar was held. The session was honored by the presence of Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Honorable Vice Chancellor of Eastern University, who attended as Chief Guest and delivered an inspiring address. The program was also graced by Prof. Dr. Firoj Ahmed, Advisor to the Department of Pharmacy, and Dr. Abu Bin Ihsan, Chairperson of the Department of Pharmacy, Ms.Tasnia Binte Bari kabbo,Coordinator Eastern University Pharma Club together with respected faculty members.
A special highlight of the seminar was the participation of Mr. Mohiuddin Andalib, Marketing Director of Servier, who joined as Special Guest. His thought-provoking speech on pharmaceutical marketing and the evolving role of pharmacists greatly motivated the students and young professionals in attendance.
The seminar was conducted by Abir Tahmid Chowdhury, who skillfully guided the program.
Later in the day, the Prize-Giving Ceremony celebrated the winners of the various competitions, recognizing their excellence, creativity, and dedication.
The 4-day celebration concluded on 25 September with a Webinar on World Pharmacists Day, where distinguished academicians from the University of Dhaka and Eastern University shared their expertise on higher studies, academia, and research.
Guided by the theme “Think Health, Think Pharmacist,” Eastern University remains committed to nurturing future pharmacy professionals with knowledge, integrity, and leadership.
