ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির শিক্ষক, শিক্ষার্থী ও কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীদের উন্নত স্বাস্থ্যসেবা নিশ্চিত করার লক্ষ্যে আজ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ক্যাম্পাসে ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি ও ফরাজী হাসপাতাল লিমিটেডের মধ্যে একটি সমঝোতা স্মারক (MoU) স্বাক্ষরিত হয়েছে। এটি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কমিউনিটির স্বাস্থ্যসেবা উন্নয়নে একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মাইলফলক। সমঝোতা স্মারকটি আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে স্বাক্ষর করেন ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ফরিদ আহমদ সোবহানী এবং ফরাজী হাসপাতাল লিমিটেডের ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক ডা. এম. মোক্তার হোসেন। অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের রেজিস্ট্রার, ট্রেজারার, বিভিন্ন অনুষদের ডিন, বিভাগীয় প্রধানগণ এবং উভয় প্রতিষ্ঠানের ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ। এই চুক্তির আওতায় ফরাজী হাসপাতাল লিমিটেড ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির শিক্ষক, শিক্ষার্থী, কর্মকর্তা, কর্মচারী এবং তাদের পরিবারের সদস্যদের জন্য বিশেষ ছাড়ে স্বাস্থ্যসেবা প্রদান করবে। প্রদত্ত সেবার মধ্যে রয়েছে জরুরি সেবা, আইসিইউ, ডায়াগনস্টিক সেবা, ফার্মেসি, অ্যাম্বুলেন্স সুবিধা এবং বিভিন্ন বিশেষজ্ঞ চিকিৎসা সেবা, যা দিনরাত চব্বিশ ঘণ্টা পাওয়া যাবে। এছাড়াও সমঝোতা স্মারকের অন্তর্ভুক্ত রয়েছে বিভিন্ন কর্পোরেট স্বাস্থ্যসেবা সুবিধা, যেমন — ল্যাবরেটরি পরীক্ষা, ইমেজিং সেবা, ফিজিওথেরাপি এবং হাসপাতালে ভর্তি সেবায় উল্লেখযোগ্য ছাড়। পাশাপাশি স্বাস্থ্য পরীক্ষা, টিকা প্রদান সেবা এবং শিশু, প্রাপ্তবয়স্ক ও বয়োজ্যেষ্ঠ নাগরিকদের জন্য বিশেষভাবে প্রণীত স্বাস্থ্য স্ক্রিনিং প্যাকেজও এই চুক্তির অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা হয়েছে, যা প্রতিরোধমূলক স্বাস্থ্যসেবা ও সার্বিক সুস্বাস্থ্য নিশ্চিতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে। এই সহযোগিতার অংশ হিসেবে ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির কর্মকর্তা ও কর্মচারীরা প্রতি বছর ছাড়কৃত মূল্যে একটি পূর্ণাঙ্গ স্বাস্থ্য পরীক্ষার সুযোগ পাবেন। এই উদ্যোগ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কমিউনিটির মধ্যে স্বাস্থ্য সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি এবং সময়মতো চিকিৎসা সহায়তা নিশ্চিত করতে সহায়ক হবে বলে আশা করা যাচ্ছে। সমঝোতা স্মারকটি প্রাথমিকভাবে দুই বছরের জন্য কার্যকর থাকবে। ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি কমিউনিটির জন্য সহজলভ্য ও মানসম্পন্ন স্বাস্থ্যসেবা নিশ্চিত করতে এই উদ্যোগ উল্লেখযোগ্য ভূমিকা রাখবে বলে প্রত্যাশা করা হচ্ছে।

The Eastern University Research Society (EURS) successfully organized a workshop titled “Fundamentals of Research” today 12th May 2026 at Rezakul Haider Hall. The event provided participants with valuable insights into the core principles and practical aspects of academic research. The workshop featured Dr. Md. Mahmudul Alam, Professor of Finance at BRAC Business School, as the Keynote Speaker. Dr. Alam delivered an engaging session on the fundamentals of research, offering practical guidance to enhance academic and research capabilities among students and faculty. The program began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome speech by Dr. Md. Ashraf Hossain, Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Professor at the School of Business Administration. Prof. Md. Shamsul Huda, Treasurer of Eastern University, and Dr. Abul Basher Khan, Registrar of Eastern University, also graced the occasion and shared their valuable thoughts, inspiring the participants with words of wisdom and encouragement on the importance of research and academic excellence. Eastern University organized a highly informative workshop titled “Workshop on Exam Anxiety” on Saturday, 9 May 2026, for students of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE). Conducted by Munia Zahan Mony, Psychosocial Counselor of the Office of the Counsellor, EU, the workshop aimed to help students understand the root causes of exam anxiety and learn practical ways to manage it. The interactive session covered key topics including lack of preparation, fear of failure, family expectations, and other psychological factors that contribute to exam-related stress. Through engaging slides and open discussion, students gained valuable insights into recognizing both positive and negative aspects of anxiety and effective coping strategies. The workshop received an enthusiastic response from the participating students, who appreciated the practical guidance and supportive environment provided by the counselor. Eastern University held its 200th Board of Trustees (BoT) Meeting on 09 May 2026 at the university’s Conference Room. The meeting was presided over by Chairman Barrister Safayet Mohammad Raju, in the presence of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Farid A. Sobhani. BoT members present included Abul Quasem Haider, Prof. Dr. ABM Shahidul Islam, Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, S.M. Bakhtiar Alam, Abul Khair Chowdhury, Kazi Shamsun Nahar Sheouly (Representative of M. Shakil Wahed), Engr. Khandaker Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Mohammed Ali Azzam, Afzalur Rahman, Md. Tanvir Mahmud, Md. Maniruzzaman Molla, Md. Shahriar (Representative of Adzi Trims Ltd.), and Khandaker Sakib Ahmed. From Eastern University Foundation, Sakhawat Abu Khair Mohammed, Md. Sanirul Islam Molla, and Shahab Uddin Khan attended. Md. Farid Hossain, Secretary of the BoT and Deputy Registrar, was also present. The BoT, as the highest governing body, reviewed and approved key academic and administrative decisions, including policies, budget, appointments, research, quality assurance, and infrastructure development. Eastern University held its 93rd Academic Council Meeting today on 4 May 2026 at the university campus in Ashulia Model Town, chaired by Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Farid A. Sobhani. Among the distinguished attendees were Barrister Safayet Mohammad Raju, Chairman, Eastern University Foundation, along with BoT members Mr. Abul Quasem Haider, Prof. Dr. ABM Shahidul Islam (DU), Mr. Md. Tanvir Mahmud, and Mr. Khandaker Sakib Ahmed. Senior officials, Deans, External Members and Heads of Departments were also present. Eastern University Hosts a Day-Long Workshop on Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants to Build Youth Network Eastern University, in association with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), successfully organized a specialized workshop on Trafficking in Persons (TIP) and Smuggling of Migrants (SOM) titled “Building a Youth Network for a Better Future” yesterday at Rezakul Haider Hall of Eastern University. The full-day program was an initiative under the project “Preventing and Addressing Trafficking in Human Beings and the Smuggling of Migrants,” funded by the European Union and supported by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of Bangladesh. The workshop brought together students from various public and private universities across the country, particularly those studying law, criminology, sociology, political science, and related disciplines. Professor Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Eastern University, attended the workshop as the Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony. The Chief Guest of the closing ceremony was Ms. Rebeka Khan, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Bangladesh Secretariat. The program began with opening remarks by Mr. Mohammad Mamunur Rashid, Head of the Department of Law, Eastern University. Thereafter, Mr. A.B.M. Imdadul Haque Khan, Dean, School of Law, Eastern University, delivered the welcome remarks. The first session was conducted by Ms. Tasneem Binta Karim, National Programme Coordinator of UNODC. She highlighted an overview of the UNODC project and the human rights-based approach to trafficking in persons. Mr. Marcus Vinicius Paes, Law Enforcement Advisor of UNODC, also facilitated the workshop. His session focused on the concept of Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants. Mr. Mostafizur Rahman, Additional Senior Superintendent of Police, Trafficking in Human Beings Cell-CID, with his first-hand experience, enriched the workshop with his discussion on trends and investigations of TIP and SOM in Bangladesh. Mr. A.B.M. Imdadul Haque Khan, Dean, School of Law, from an academic perspective, conducted the final technical session on the legal framework for countering human trafficking in Bangladesh. Participants from 17 different universities, along with participants from Eastern University, attended this day-long workshop. Participants actively engaged in group work, open discussions, and a quiz competition. The workshop concluded with closing remarks followed by a certificate distribution ceremony, during which Ms. Rebeka Khan delivered the closing remarks, formally bringing the program to an end. The workshop aimed to equip university students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills to understand, identify, and respond to trafficking in persons and migrant smuggling, while fostering a strong youth network of advocates committed to prevention and awareness-raising efforts in their communities. This initiative forms part of UNODC’s broader efforts to strengthen the rule of law education and engage young people as champions against these serious transnational crimes.

The session focused on the transformative role of AI-powered tools in academic research and how Microsoft 365 Copilot can support students in improving research efficiency, academic writing, and data organization. The program was graced by the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, whose encouragement highlighted the university’s commitment to integrating modern technology into education and research. Dr. Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Dean and Professor, School of Engineering, also spoke at the program, emphasizing the importance of embracing AI-driven tools to enhance research quality and academic productivity among students. The seminar was conducted by Mr. Muhammad Mahfuz Hasan, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of CSE, who provided practical demonstrations on how AI tools can be effectively utilized in different stages of research, including literature review, methodology development, and result analysis. The students of the 4th Semester, Department of Business Administration, Eastern University, successfully completed an academic industry visit to several leading banking institutions as part of their course "Principles of Finance". This initiative was conducted under the supervision of their course instructor, Rifat Hasan Riyad, Lecturer in Finance, Department of business administration, Eastern University. The primary objective of this visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the operational, managerial, and financial aspects of the banking sector, thereby complementing their theoretical knowledge with real-world insights. Throughout the visit, students engaged in meaningful observations and discussions that enabled them to develop a deeper understanding of modern banking operations and financial services, gain insights into customer relationship management and service delivery practices, observe organizational structures and professional workplace environments, relate academic concepts to practical financial decision-making processes. Such experiential learning opportunities are integral to academic development, as they foster critical thinking, professional awareness, and a comprehensive understanding of industry dynamics. School of Business of Eastern University recently organized an Industrial Visit on 29th April, 2026 for a group of 30 enthusiastic 1st Semester students of Spring-26 to Indet Group (Adzi Trims Ltd.), Dautia, Kalampur, Dhamrai as a part of their practical learning experience. It was a truly insightful and successful event! The visit was directed and motivated by Prof. Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Honorable Vice Chancellor, Eastern University and guided by Prof. Brigadier General Dr. A K M Iqbal Azim, ndc, psc, G+ (Retd), Dean, School of Business and Habib Anwar Pasha, Head, Department of Business Administration. It was supervised by Dr. Farhana Khan, Director (IFBI)&Associate Professor, and Coordinate by Fozia Rahman, Assistant Professor, School of Business. Special thanks are extended to them as well as to our dedicated faculty members and staffs for their excellent coordination and support in making this program possible. দুই দিনব্যাপী টানটান উত্তেজনাপূর্ণ এই টুর্নামেন্টে আবারও চ্যাম্পিয়ন হয়েছে কম্পিউটার সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং (CSE) বিভাগ। ফাইনালে ইলেকট্রিক্যাল অ্যান্ড ইলেকট্রনিক্স ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং (EEE) বিভাগকে হারিয়ে হাড্ডাহাড্ডি লড়াইয়ের মধ্য দিয়ে শিরোপা নিশ্চিত করে CSE দল। এবারের টুর্নামেন্টে অংশগ্রহণ করে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মোট ৭টি বিভাগ—CSE, EEE, Civil, Law, Pharmacy, English এবং BBA। টুর্নামেন্টটির স্পন্সর ছিল ক্লেমন। পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠানে মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ফরিদ আহমদ সোবহানী বিজয়ীদের হাতে ট্রফি তুলে দেন। এ সময় রেজিস্ট্রার, ডিনবৃন্দ, বিভাগীয় প্রধানগণ, শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থী, কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মার্লিন ট্যুরস এন্ড ট্রাভেলস এর চেয়ারম্যান জুয়েল রেজোয়ানি মিয়াহ। এছাড়া ক্লেমন এর পক্ষ থেকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন গাজী আলমগীর। এই আয়োজনটি পরিচালিত হয় স্টুডেন্ট অ্যাফেয়ার্স ও প্লেসমেন্ট বিভাগ-এর উপ-পরিচালক কে. এম. মনিরুল ইসলাম-এর তত্ত্বাবধানে এবং সহযোগিতায় ছিল ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি গেমস ও স্পোর্টস ক্লাব। ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি কর্তৃপক্ষ ভবিষ্যতেও এ ধরনের আয়োজন অব্যাহত রাখার আশা প্রকাশ করেছে।

The Department of Pharmacy showcased a brilliant blend of athletic talent and departmental camaraderie during the Pharmacy Cricket League Season 2, held on April 21 and 22, 2026. The tournament featured four uniquely named teams: Antibiotic Avengers, Capsule Battlers, Remedy Royals, and Rx Squad. Following the preliminary rounds, the final match saw a showdown between the Capsule Battlers and Rx Squad. Ultimately, Rx Squad outperformed their rivals to be crowned the champions of the season. The celebration of this achievement took place tomorrow, April 25, as the winning team joined faculty and peers to commemorate their hard-earned success. This internal success has set a positive tone for the university-wide sports calendar. Looking ahead, the Department of Pharmacy cricket team will join the inter-departmental competition on April 26 and 27. The university community anticipates a display of high-level talent as Pharmacy competes against teams from across the campus in the spirit of healthy institutional rivalry.

On April 22, 2026, International Earth Day was observed in Bangladesh alongside the rest of the world with due significance. To highlight the importance of the day and promote environmental awareness, the Eastern University Earth Care Club organized a special seminar titled “Earth Dialogue.” The seminar was inaugurated by Ms. Susmita Das, Coordinator of the Eastern University Earth Care Club and Assistant Professor of the School of Law at Eastern University. The keynote speaker of the event was Mr. Rizwan Khayer Fahim, a respected faculty member of the same department. In his speech, he emphasized our responsibility toward the planet and highlighted the importance of reducing the use of polythene and plastic. He also raised awareness about environmentally harmful materials and urged everyone to refrain from using them. The event also featured a speech by Mr. Md. Rofiussan, Head of the Department of English at Eastern University. He discussed the ongoing global energy crisis and elaborated on how it poses a significant challenge for the future. In his closing remarks, Mr. Selim Hossain Tamim, President of the Eastern University Earth Care Club, expressed his gratitude to all participants and encouraged everyone to take more environmentally friendly initiatives in the future. The seminar witnessed active participation from students, who enriched the discussion through their opinions and questions. A question-and-answer session was held at the end of the program, where 10 students were selected as winners and awarded gifts on behalf of the club.

On April 16, 2026, faculty members and students from the Department of Pharmacy visited the Naypara FDMN (Rohingya) Camps in Teknaf as part of an experiential learning program. This visit served as a practical extension of the 3rd-year "Introduction to Public Health" curriculum, which covers the management of health crises in displaced communities. The group explored the socio-economic realities of the camps through a briefing with the Secretary, who detailed the challenges of maintaining basic healthcare facilities in such a specialized environment. The visit concluded with an informative session at the camp’s hospital facility. There, the students and faculty interacted with the medical leadership to examine the logistical hurdles of providing consistent medication and preventative care. Discussions with the on-site Doctor and Pharmacist highlighted the critical importance of vaccination plans and specialized treatment regimens. This trip successfully bridged the gap between academic theory and the realities of global public health.

Organized by the Eastern University Cultural Club, the vibrant day-long festival brought together students, teachers, officials, staff, and alumni in a festive atmosphere. Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Farid A. Sobhani graced the occasion as Chief Guest and emphasized that Pohela Boishakh is a day to reconnect with our roots and nurture our culture and human values. Treasurer Prof. Md. Shamsul Huda and Registrar Dr. Abul Bashar Khan also shared inspiring words, encouraging everyone to embrace our rich heritage. The celebration featured a colorful Boishakhi Mela, captivating cultural performances, flash mob, bioscope, nagordola, and delightful food & handicraft stalls. Students in traditional attire added extra vibrancy to the entire campus.

দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার খ্যাতনামা পাবলিক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় "Sol Plaatje University" এর গ্র্যাজুয়েশন অনুষ্ঠান তথা সমাবর্তনে আমন্ত্রিত বক্তা হিসেবে কীনোট বক্তব্য প্রদান করেছেন ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ফরিদ আহমদ সোবহানী। গতকাল (১৭ এপ্রিল ২০২৬) দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার ‘ডায়মন্ড সিটি’ খ্যাত কিম্বারলিতে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের নিজস্ব অডিটোরিয়ামে জাঁকজমকপূর্ণ পরিবেশে এই গ্র্যাজুয়েশন অনুষ্ঠান সম্পন্ন হয়। উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় আচার্য ড. থেবে ইকালাফেং, মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ডেবরা মিয়ার, এবং দেশি-বিদেশি অতিথিসহ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক-মন্ডলী উপস্থিত ছিলেন। প্রতি বছরের ন্যায় আয়োজিত এ সমাবর্তনে এ বছর বিভিন্ন অনুষদের প্রায় দেড় হাজার শিক্ষার্থীর ডিগ্রি প্রদান করা হয়। প্রফেসর সোবহানী তার বক্তৃতায় এই বিরল সম্মান ও আমন্ত্রণের জন্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কর্তৃপক্ষের প্রতি আন্তরিক কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করেন। তিনি গ্র্যাজুয়েটদের উদ্দেশ্যে নিজের পরিবার, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ও সমাজের কল্যাণে তাদের দায়িত্ব পালনের আহ্বান জানান এবং আন্তর্জাতিক অঙ্গনে নিজেদের যোগ্যতার স্বাক্ষর রাখার জন্য উদ্বুদ্ধ করেন। তিনি শিক্ষার্থীদের নোবেল বিজয়ী বিশ্বনেতা ও দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার সাবেক রাষ্ট্রপতি নেলসন ম্যান্ডেলার আদর্শে অনুপ্রাণিত হওয়ার আহ্বান জানান এবং ১৯৯৭ সালে ম্যান্ডেলার ঐতিহাসিক বাংলাদেশ সফরের স্মৃতিচারণ করেন। পাশাপাশি, সত্য অনুসন্ধান, অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে আপসহীন অবস্থান এবং ন্যায়বিচার প্রতিষ্ঠায় অঙ্গীকারবদ্ধ থাকার জন্য তিনি শিক্ষার্থীদের প্রতি আহ্বান জানান। দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার কোনো স্বনামধন্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের গ্র্যাজুয়েশন অনুষ্ঠানে আমন্ত্রিত বক্তা হিসেবে বাংলাদেশের কোনো উপাচার্যের অংশগ্রহণ ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির পাশাপাশি সমগ্র বাংলাদেশের জন্য এক অনন্য অর্জন ও গৌরবের বিষয়। দেশের উচ্চশিক্ষা অঙ্গনে এ ধরনের আন্তর্জাতিক স্বীকৃতি অত্যন্ত বিরল এবং এটি বিশ্ব পরিসরে বাংলাদেশের ভাবমূর্তি আরও উজ্জ্বল করেছে। অনুষ্ঠানে প্রদত্ত উপাচার্য মহোদয়ের পূর্ণ বক্তব্যটি নিচের লিঙ্কে পাওয়া যাবে: https://www.youtube.com/live/idqBaQ6QIUk

An inspiring and insightful session with our proud alumnus, Monsurul Haque Rased, former BSEC President and a distinguished BBA 51st batch student of Eastern University, who is currently building a successful corporate career in Japan. During the session, Rased shared his remarkable journey of establishing a career in Japan—covering the complete roadmap, including skill preparation, job search strategies, and the step-by-step process of applying for opportunities and securing a visa. His real-life experiences and practical insights provided clear direction and motivation for our current students who aspire to build an international career. The program was enriched with an engaging Q&A session, where students actively interacted and gained valuable guidance tailored to their career goals. It truly served as a meaningful platform for learning, inspiration, and connection with a successful member of the BBA family. We were also honored by the presence of Syed Habib Anwar Pasha, Head of the Department and Associate Professor, and Dr. Farhana Khan, Coordinator of BSEC Club, Director (IFBI), and Associate Professor. The Eastern University Public Health Club organized a program titled “Celebrating World Health Day 2026” on 12 April 2026 at Eastern University, Dhaka, aiming to promote public health awareness and encourage healthy lifestyle practices among students. The program featured a Health Seminar at Rezakul Haider Hall alongside a Free Health Check-up Campaign at the EU Sports Room. The seminar began with recitations from holy scriptures, followed by guest reception and a welcome speech by the President of EUPHC. The Chief Guest, Professor Md. Shamsul Huda, Honorable Vice Chancellor (Acting), delivered an insightful keynote speech emphasizing the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring both individual and community health. The Guest of Honor, Mr. Bishwajit Podder, General Manager of East West Medical College Hospital, shared valuable insights on accessible healthcare services and the importance of collaboration between academia and the healthcare industry. The Special Guest, Dr. Abu Bin Ihsan, Head of the Department of Pharmacy, highlighted the significance of pharmaceutical education and awareness in building a healthier society. The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Dean of the School of Engineering and Advisor of the club, who also delivered an insightful speech on public health awareness and later offered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all distinguished guests, participants, and organizers for making the program successful. The seminar also featured an engaging Public Health Quiz Battle 2026 and a short cultural segment focused on health awareness, followed by an award-giving ceremony and refreshments. In parallel, the Free Health Check-up Campaign was conducted from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM at the EU Sports Room, providing basic healthcare services free of cost. The initiative was supported by East West Medical College Hospital as the official health partner, where a professional medical team ensured quality and efficient service delivery. The program successfully combined awareness with practical healthcare support, engaging a large number of students, faculty members, and officials. It served as an effective platform for health education and community engagement, reaffirming the university’s commitment to promoting preventive healthcare practices. The entire program was coordinated by Mr. Shahadatul Islam and witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, and university officials.

দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার কিম্বার্লিতে সফররত ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি, ঢাকার মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ফরিদ আহমদ সোবহানী সল প্লাকি ইউনিভার্সিটির মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. সুসানা মেয়া'র সাথে সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ করেন। সফরকালে তিনি ভিজিটিং প্রফেসর হিসেবে সেমিনার ও পাবলিক লেকচার প্রদান করেন এবং শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থীদের সঙ্গে গবেষণা ও একাডেমিক বিষয়ে মতবিনিময় করেন। তাছাড়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিভিন্ন একাডেমিক কার্যক্রমে তিনি অংশগ্রহণ করেন। সাক্ষাৎকালে উভয় উপাচার্য শিক্ষা ও গবেষণায় দ্বিপাক্ষিক সহযোগিতা জোরদার, যৌথ গবেষণা উদ্যোগ এবং একটি সমঝোতা স্মারক (MoU) স্বাক্ষরের সম্ভাবনা নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন। বিশেষ করে ‘ম্যাচিং গ্রান্ট’ ভিত্তিক যৌথ গবেষণা পরিচালনা, জ্ঞান ও অভিজ্ঞতা বিনিময় এবং বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়–শিল্প সমন্বয়ে গবেষণা কার্যক্রম সম্প্রসারণের বিষয়ে গুরুত্বারোপ করেন। আন্তর্জাতিক সহযোগিতা পেলে একটি মানসম্মত গবেষণা ইকোসিস্টেম গড়ে তোলার প্রত্যয় ব্যক্ত করা হয় ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির পক্ষ থেকে। অপরদিকে সল প্লাকি ইউনিভার্সিটির উপাচার্য এ ধরনের উদ্যোগকে স্বাগত জানান এবং ভবিষ্যতে দীর্ঘমেয়াদি অংশীদারিত্ব গড়ে তোলার আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করেন। এই সাক্ষাৎ দুটি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মধ্যে আন্তর্জাতিক একাডেমিক সহযোগিতা সম্প্রসারণে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে বলে আশা করা যায়।

১১/০৪/২০২৬ ইং তারিখে এটিএন বাংলা ছায়া সংসদ বিতর্ক প্রতিযোগিতায় সরকারি টিচার্স ট্রেনিং কলেজকে পরাজিত করে চ্যাম্পিয়ন হয়েছে ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি। ডিবেট ফর ডেমোক্রেসি আয়োজিত এই প্রতিযোগিতাটি এক উৎসবমুখর পরিবেশে এবং শিক্ষার্থীদের বিপুল উপস্থিতিতে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এবারের বিতর্কের বিষয় ছিলো: "অর্থনৈতিক সুরক্ষায় রাজস্ব আয় বৃদ্ধি আগামী বাজেটের প্রধান কৌশল হওয়া উচিৎ"। অনুষ্ঠানের প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিশিষ্ট অর্থনীতিবিদ ও জাতিসংঘ উন্নয়ন কর্মসূচির (ইউএনডিপি) মানব উন্নয়ন প্রতিবেদন কার্যালয়ের সাবেক পরিচালক অধ্যাপক ড. সেলিম জাহান এবং সভাপতিত্ব করেন ডিবেট ফর ডেমোক্রেসির প্রেসিডেন্ট হাসান আহমেদ কিরন। ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির পক্ষ থেকে ফাতেমা তুজ জহুরা, কানিজ ফাতেমা রিতু এবং ডালিয়া সৈকত বিতর্ক প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশগ্রহণ করে চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপ নিশ্চিত করার জন্য অসামান্য বিতর্ক এবং দলগত দক্ষতা প্রদর্শন করে। অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির ডিবেটিং ক্লাবের কো-অর্ডিনেটর এবং আইন বিভাগের প্রভাষক মেহেরবা সাবরিন, স্টুডেন্ট এফেয়ার্স ও প্লেসমেন্ট বিভাগের উপ-পরিচালক কে.এম. মনিরুল ইসলাম, জনসংযোগ বিভাগের সহকারী পরিচালক মো: মহিউদ্দীন মজুমদার, ডিবেট ক্লাবের প্রেসিডেন্ট সৈয়দ সাবেত ইবনে মাহমুদ এবং ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির ছাত্র-ছাত্রীবৃন্দ। এই সাফল্য ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির জন্য একটি গর্বের মুহূর্ত যা বিতর্কে অংশগ্রহনকারী শিক্ষার্থীদের প্রতিভা এবং নিষ্ঠার প্রতিফলন। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের এই বিজয় শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে চিন্তা-ভাবনা এবং জনসমক্ষে বক্তৃতা করার দক্ষতা বিকাশের গুরুত্বকে তুলে ধরে।
