The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Eastern University organized a Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled “OBE Training Sessions” today at the CSE Lab.
The event began with an opening address by Professor Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Honourable Vice Chancellor of Eastern University, who emphasized the importance of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) in ensuring academic quality and global competitiveness of graduates.
Professor Dr. Md. Ashraf Hossain, Director of IQAC, Eastern University, also attended the program and highlighted IQAC’s continuous efforts in promoting faculty development and quality enhancement across the university.
The training program featured two interactive sessions.
Session I: “OBE Concept and Question Format” was conducted by Dr. Md. Abdullah Al Humayun, Professor and Chairperson, Department of EEE, EU. He discussed the fundamentals of OBE, question design, and assessment strategies to align with program outcomes.
Session II: “OBE Result-Sheet Preparation (Lab Exercise)” was facilitated by Mr. Muhammad Mahfuz Hasan, Chairperson, Department of CSE, EU, where participants engaged in a hands-on exercise to prepare OBE-based result sheets.
The sessions aimed to strengthen faculty capacity in applying OBE practices in teaching, learning, and assessment. The IQAC of Eastern University continues to play a key role in enhancing teaching quality through workshops, training, and faculty development initiatives, contributing to the university’s mission of academic excellence.
