The 7th International Conference on Integrated Sciences (ICIS 2025) under the theme Integrating Artificial Intelligence in Science, Business, and Islamic Paradigms, held today on October 25, 2025 at Eastern University, Ashulia Model Town, Dhaka. The conference was jointly organized by Eastern University, Bangladesh, and the International Open University (IOU), The Gambia.
The inaugural session was presided over by Professor Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Honorable Vice Chancellor of Eastern University. In his address, Professor Sobhani emphasized the importance of ethical and human values in science, business, technology, and education.
A special video message was delivered by Professor Dr. Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips, Honorable Chancellor of IOU, The Gambia, and Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB).
Professor Dr. Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Chairman of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Special Guests included Engr. Khandaker Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Member, Board of Trustees (BoT), Eastern University, and Professor Dr. Abul Hasan M. Sadeq, Founding Chairman, Board of Trustees, Asian University of Bangladesh.
The ceremony was also attended by the Vice-Chancellors of Daffodil International University, City University, Manarat International University, and Asian University of Bangladesh; the Chief Adviser of Presidency University; and Professor Dr. Muhammad Ahsan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), International Open University (IOU), The Gambia.
In addition, Mr. Niaz Rahim, Group Managing Director of Rahimafrooz Bangladesh Ltd., was present as a distinguished guest.
The Keynote Speech was delivered by Dr. Muhammad Imadur Rahman, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
Dr. Md. Musharrof Hossain, Advisor (HR), icddr,b, and President of the Federation of Bangladesh Human Resource Organizations (FBHRO), addressed the audience as a Distinguished Speaker.
Eminent scholars, researchers, and students from home and abroad participated in the conference. Various technical and parallel sessions featured presentations and discussions focusing on science, business, technology, and Islamic perspectives.
The conference was convened by Professor Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Head, Department of Business Administration, IOU, The Gambia, and co-convened by Dr. Abu Bin Ihsan, Chairperson and Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy, Eastern University. Professor Dr. Afroza Bulbul, Director of Research and Publications, IOU, The Gambia, served as the Coordinator of the event.
The event was attended by the Treasurer, Registrar, Deans, Heads of Departments, paper presenters, faculty members, officers, and students of Eastern University.At the end of the conference, the Organizing Committee expressed sincere gratitude to all guests, partner institutions, researchers, and participants for their valuable contributions to the success of the event.
