The Eastern University Research Society (EURS) successfully organized a workshop titled “Fundamentals of Research” today 12th May 2026 at Rezakul Haider Hall. The event provided participants with valuable insights into the core principles and practical aspects of academic research.
The workshop featured Dr. Md. Mahmudul Alam, Professor of Finance at BRAC Business School, as the Keynote Speaker. Dr. Alam delivered an engaging session on the fundamentals of research, offering practical guidance to enhance academic and research capabilities among students and faculty.
The program began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome speech by Dr. Md. Ashraf Hossain, Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Professor at the School of Business Administration.
Prof. Md. Shamsul Huda, Treasurer of Eastern University, and Dr. Abul Basher Khan, Registrar of Eastern University, also graced the occasion and shared their valuable thoughts, inspiring the participants with words of wisdom and encouragement on the importance of research and academic excellence.
A lively interactive session followed, including open discussion, a quiz round conducted by Md. Omar Faruque, EURS Coordinator & Lecturer, Department of Law, and a gift presentation ceremony for the top three performers. The program concluded with closing remarks and a vote of thanks by Dr. Abu Bin Ihsan, Dean of the School of Life Sciences, Chief Research Coordinator of EURS, and Session Chair.
Dr. Abu Bin Ihsan expressed sincere gratitude to the distinguished guests, speakers, organizers, and all participants for contributing to the success of this academic initiative. He highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering a vibrant research culture through such programs.
