Eastern University held its 200th Board of Trustees (BoT) Meeting on 09 May 2026 at the university’s Conference Room. The meeting was presided over by Chairman Barrister Safayet Mohammad Raju, in the presence of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Farid A. Sobhani.
BoT members present included Abul Quasem Haider, Prof. Dr. ABM Shahidul Islam, Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, S.M. Bakhtiar Alam, Abul Khair Chowdhury, Kazi Shamsun Nahar Sheouly (Representative of M. Shakil Wahed), Engr. Khandaker Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Mohammed Ali Azzam, Afzalur Rahman, Md. Tanvir Mahmud, Md. Maniruzzaman Molla, Md. Shahriar (Representative of Adzi Trims Ltd.), and Khandaker Sakib Ahmed.
From Eastern University Foundation, Sakhawat Abu Khair Mohammed, Md. Sanirul Islam Molla, and Shahab Uddin Khan attended. Md. Farid Hossain, Secretary of the BoT and Deputy Registrar, was also present.
The BoT, as the highest governing body, reviewed and approved key academic and administrative decisions, including policies, budget, appointments, research, quality assurance, and infrastructure development.
The meeting concluded with a strong commitment to advancing academic excellence and overall institutional growth of Eastern University.
