We are deeply saddened to inform all members of the Eastern University family that Professor Dr. A.K.M. Saiful Majid, former Chairman and Member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of Eastern University, Member of the Eastern University Foundation, and former Director of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, passed away this morning, 11 November 2025, at the age of 68, while undergoing treatment.
Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji‘oon (إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ) — Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.
Professor Dr. Majid’s invaluable contributions to the growth and development of Eastern University will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and pray for the eternal peace of his departed soul.
