Eastern University proudly welcomed its newly appointed Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, in a warm reception held on Sunday, 25 May 2025, at 2:30 PM at Rezakul Haider Hall. The event brought together faculty members, officials, and staff from all departments in a spirit of unity and celebrate the beginning of a
new chapter for the university under Professor Sobhani’s leadership.

The speakers extended a heartfelt welcome to Professor Dr. Farid A. Sobhani and expressed confidence that under his visionary leadership, Eastern University will achieve its academic and institutional goals, further solidifying its position as one of the top universities in Bangladesh.
In his inaugural address, the Vice-Chancellor expressed his gratitude to the Board of Trustees and all stakeholders for entrusting him with the responsibility to lead the university. He pledged his full commitment to advancing the institution’s academic excellence, research initiatives, and overall development. Seeking cooperation from faculty, staff, and administration, he emphasized a collaborative approach to raise the university to new heights.
The program was conducted by Dr. Abul Basher Khan, Registrar of Eastern University. The gathering reflected a strong sense of unity and optimism for the university’s future.
