The IEEE Eastern University Student Branch (IEEE EUSB) proudly participated in the 2025 Chair & Counselor's Summit hosted at Asia Hotel & Resorts on Topkhana Road, Dhaka. The event drew student branch leaders and faculty counsellors from across Bangladesh, offering a rich environment for leadership development, community building and professional growth.

The summit featured keynote sessions, leadership discussions, and interactive workshops centered on enhancing student branch governance, member engagement, and collaboration between student officers and counsellors.
Faculty Counselor Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman represented Eastern University among distinguished educators, emphasizing the importance of mentorship and faculty collaboration in IEEE’s student ecosystem
During the event, Farhan Ahmed Rahee, Vice Chair of IEEE EUSB, delivered a presentation speech showcasing the branch’s key activities from 2024 and outlining future visionary projects designed to expand innovation, inclusion, and student participation at Eastern University.
Mummy Sultana Meem actively participated in sessions on empowering women in STEM through the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group, while Nazmus Sakib joined outreach strategy discussions with other IEEE Branches to strengthen the branch’s communication and event promotion efforts.
Adding to the branch’s success, IEEE Eastern University Student Branch (IEEE EUSB) was granted a rebate from the IEEE Global in recognition of its excellent performance during the 2024–2025 fiscal year. The branch was also honored as one of the Top 24 IEEE Student Branches in Bangladesh to receive this distinction.
During the event, Prof. Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Chair of the IEEE Bangladesh Section, expressed her heartfelt congratulations to IEEE EUSB for their continuous dedication and achievements. She commended the branch’s efforts in promoting professionalism and leadership among young engineers and stated that the IEEE Bangladesh Section intends to select Eastern University as a venue for future IEEE events due to its dynamic engagement and organizational excellence.
Dr. Shahnaz also extended her best wishes for the upcoming BECITHCON 2025, which will be hosted by Eastern University next month, expressing confidence in the branch’s ability to deliver more successful and inspiring IEEE events in the future.This recognition highlights IEEE EUSB’s continued growth, member engagement, and contributions to fostering a strong IEEE community within Eastern University and beyond.
