On 01 February 2026, a Physiotherapy Awareness Seminar & Free Screening Camp was organized at the campus of Eastern University under the initiative of the Eastern University Public Health Club (EUPHC). The primary objective of the program was to raise awareness about the prevention of neck and back pain among students and university stakeholders.
The event was graced by the presence of the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Eastern University, Professor Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, as the Chief Guest. In his inaugural speech, he highlighted the importance of health awareness among students and appreciated the initiative of establishing a dedicated public health club at the university. He also expressed optimism regarding the future activities of EUPHC. Mr. Abul Quasem Haider, Founder Chairman of Eastern University Foundation, was present at the program as an Honorable Guest.
The keynote presentation was delivered by Dr. M Easin Ali, Chairman and Chief Consultant of Dhaka City Physiotherapy Hospital. He discussed the common causes of neck and back pain, preventive measures, correct posture, and the importance of physiotherapy in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The program was further honored by the presence of Professor Md. Shamsul Huda, Treasurer of Eastern University, and Dr. Abul Basher Khan, Registrar of Eastern University. Professor Dr. Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Dean of the School of Engineering, Eastern University, attended the program as the Special Guest. The seminar was chaired by Dr. Abu Bin Ihsan, Head of the Department of Pharmacy, Eastern University.
Alongside the seminar, a free physiotherapy screening camp was arranged for students, faculty members, and staff, which received an enthusiastic response. The screening session played a significant role in providing preliminary health assessments and increasing awareness about the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders.
The event was held at Rezakul Haider Hall, Eastern University, starting at 11:00 AM. The program was attended by faculty members and university officials from various departments, reflecting strong institutional support for the initiative. The program was organized by the Eastern University Public Health Club (EUPHC) with the support of Dhaka City Physiotherapy Hospital. Such initiatives are expected to contribute significantly to promoting public health awareness and fostering a healthier campus environment.
