On April 16, 2026, faculty members and students from the Department of Pharmacy visited the Naypara FDMN (Rohingya) Camps in Teknaf as part of an experiential learning program. This visit served as a practical extension of the 3rd-year "Introduction to Public Health" curriculum, which covers the management of health crises in displaced communities. The group explored the socio-economic realities of the camps through a briefing with the Secretary, who detailed the challenges of maintaining basic healthcare facilities in such a specialized environment.
The visit concluded with an informative session at the camp’s hospital facility. There, the students and faculty interacted with the medical leadership to examine the logistical hurdles of providing consistent medication and preventative care. Discussions with the on-site Doctor and Pharmacist highlighted the critical importance of vaccination plans and specialized treatment regimens. This trip successfully bridged the gap between academic theory and the realities of global public health.
