The Bangabandhu Inter-College Football Tournament at Eastern University concluded amidst vibrant celebrations. From February 27 to 28, teams representing colleges such as Dhaka Commerce College, Savar Model College, Legend College, Nawab Habibullah Model School and College, Dosaid Adhanya Kumar School and College, Haji Yunus Ali College, Islami Bank Institute of Technology, and BCIC College, displayed their talents on the university grounds.
The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of Biplob Bhattacharjee, former national football team captain of Bangladesh and esteemed goal coach. Following an exhilarating final match, which saw Dosaid Adhanya Kumar School and College Football team clinching victory with a 1-0 triumph over BCIC College, the trophy was presented to the triumphant players by Eastern University's dignitaries including Board of Trustees Chairman Mohammed Ali Azzam, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hossain, Treasurer Prof. Md. Shamsul Huda, Registrar Dr. Abul Basher Khan, along with Deans representing various faculties. A.B.M. Imdadul Haque Khan, Convener of the tournament's organizing committee, and other university officials and faculty members also graced the event with their presence.
Before the award-giving ceremony, a lively Flash Mob performance by university students infused the atmosphere with festivity. Siam Sikder, captain of Dosaid Adhanya Kumar School and College Football team, received recognition as the Player of the Tournament for his exceptional performance throughout the competition.
Notably, the tournament was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hossain, Vice-Chancellor of Eastern University, who ceremonially hoisted the tournament flag and released balloons on the morning of February 27.
