The Department of Pharmacy at Eastern University successfully hosted its 3rd Intra-Department Football Tournament on September 14 and 15, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and athletic excellence among students.
The two-day tournament featured four departmental teams: Azithromycin Royals, Cephalosporin Squad, Antidote Avengers, and Vaccine Battlers. Following a series of competitive group matches and knockout rounds, Azithromycin Royals claimed the championship title, while Cephalosporin Squad finished as the tournament runners-up after an exciting final match.
The opening ceremony and the final prize distribution ceremony were graced by the Honorable Vice Chancellor Professor Farid A. Sobhani and the Treasurer Professor Md. Shamsul Huda of Eastern University as distinguished guests. In their addresses to the students, the university leadership commended the Department of Pharmacy for encouraging co-curricular involvement, noting that athletic engagements are essential for holistic development, stress management, and building leadership capabilities alongside academic pursuits.
Faculty members, administrative staff, and student supporters attended the matches to cheer on the teams. The event concluded with the official presentation of trophies, medals, and recognition certificates to the champion and runner-up squads.
