Design of Low-Cost Microcontroller-Based Automatic Door Control Using PIR Motion Sensor

Abstract: This paper presents a design of a low-cost automatic door control system with a microcontroller and PIR motion sensor. The microcontroller is not only a controlling system but also a security monitoring system. An elegant circuit design and low-cost devices make the system more users comfortable. Moreover, a conventional power supply is enough for this system. The whole unit contains a microcontroller unit, a sensing unit with an audio amplifier, a motor driver, and a power supply, including their respective accessories. This device will be helpful to prevent crimes, thieves’ attacks, intruders and vandals, which are increasing continuously and despite all forms of security gadgets and locks.
