The students of the 4th Semester, Department of Business Administration, Eastern University, successfully completed an academic industry visit to several leading banking institutions as part of their course "Principles of Finance". This initiative was conducted under the supervision of their course instructor, Rifat Hasan Riyad, Lecturer in Finance, Department of business administration, Eastern University. The primary objective of this visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the operational, managerial, and financial aspects of the banking sector, thereby complementing their theoretical knowledge with real-world insights. Throughout the visit, students engaged in meaningful observations and discussions that enabled them to develop a deeper understanding of modern banking operations and financial services, gain insights into customer relationship management and service delivery practices, observe organizational structures and professional workplace environments, relate academic concepts to practical financial decision-making processes. Such experiential learning opportunities are integral to academic development, as they foster critical thinking, professional awareness, and a comprehensive understanding of industry dynamics. The Department extends its sincere appreciation to the participating institutions for their cooperation and to the faculty members for their continuous dedication to enhancing student learning experiences.

School of Business of Eastern University recently organized an Industrial Visit on 29th April, 2026 for a group of 30 enthusiastic 1st Semester students of Spring-26 to Indet Group (Adzi Trims Ltd.), Dautia, Kalampur, Dhamrai as a part of their practical learning experience. It was a truly insightful and successful event! The visit was directed and motivated by Prof. Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Honorable Vice Chancellor, Eastern University and guided by Prof. Brigadier General Dr. A K M Iqbal Azim, ndc, psc, G+ (Retd), Dean, School of Business and Habib Anwar Pasha, Head, Department of Business Administration. It was supervised by Dr. Farhana Khan, Director (IFBI)&Associate Professor, and Coordinate by Fozia Rahman, Assistant Professor, School of Business. Special thanks are extended to them as well as to our dedicated faculty members and staffs for their excellent coordination and support in making this program possible. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Al Shahriar Ahmed, BoT for his kind guidance, inspiration and continuous support in connecting our students with real-world industry practices and the industry authority for their warm welcome and valuable guidance throughout the visit. We hope industrial visits like this will help students link academic lessons with practical industry exposure, preparing them for a successful future.

দুই দিনব্যাপী টানটান উত্তেজনাপূর্ণ এই টুর্নামেন্টে আবারও চ্যাম্পিয়ন হয়েছে কম্পিউটার সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং (CSE) বিভাগ। ফাইনালে ইলেকট্রিক্যাল অ্যান্ড ইলেকট্রনিক্স ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং (EEE) বিভাগকে হারিয়ে হাড্ডাহাড্ডি লড়াইয়ের মধ্য দিয়ে শিরোপা নিশ্চিত করে CSE দল। এবারের টুর্নামেন্টে অংশগ্রহণ করে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মোট ৭টি বিভাগ—CSE, EEE, Civil, Law, Pharmacy, English এবং BBA। টুর্নামেন্টটির স্পন্সর ছিল ক্লেমন। পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠানে মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ফরিদ আহমদ সোবহানী বিজয়ীদের হাতে ট্রফি তুলে দেন। এ সময় রেজিস্ট্রার, ডিনবৃন্দ, বিভাগীয় প্রধানগণ, শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থী, কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মার্লিন ট্যুরস এন্ড ট্রাভেলস এর চেয়ারম্যান জুয়েল রেজোয়ানি মিয়াহ। এছাড়া ক্লেমন এর পক্ষ থেকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন গাজী আলমগীর। এই আয়োজনটি পরিচালিত হয় স্টুডেন্ট অ্যাফেয়ার্স ও প্লেসমেন্ট বিভাগ-এর উপ-পরিচালক কে. এম. মনিরুল ইসলাম-এর তত্ত্বাবধানে এবং সহযোগিতায় ছিল ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি গেমস ও স্পোর্টস ক্লাব। ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি কর্তৃপক্ষ ভবিষ্যতেও এ ধরনের আয়োজন অব্যাহত রাখার আশা প্রকাশ করেছে।

ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি দেশে প্রথমবারের মতো ইসলামী ফাইন্যান্স, ব্যাংকিং ও ইন্স্যুরেন্স বিষয়ে স্বল্প খরচে মানসম্মত বিবিএ ও এমবিএ প্রোগ্রাম চালু করেছে। এ প্রেক্ষাপটে “বাংলাদেশে ইসলামী ফাইন্যান্স, ব্যাংকিং ও ইন্স্যুরেন্স" শীর্ষক এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সেমিনার গতকাল ২৫/০৪/২০২৬ইং তারিখে ঢাকায় অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। দেশের প্রেক্ষাপটে ইসলামী অর্থনীতি, ব্যাংকিং ও বীমা খাতের সম্ভাবনা, চ্যালেঞ্জ এবং ভবিষ্যৎ দিকনির্দেশনা নিয়ে আয়োজিত এ সেমিনারে সংশ্লিষ্ট খাতের বিশিষ্টজন, শিক্ষাবিদ ও শিক্ষার্থীরা অংশগ্রহণ করেন। ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ফরিদ আহমদ সোবহানীর সভাপতিত্বে সেমিনারের মূল প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেন ইসলামী অর্থনীতিবিদ ও শরিয়াহ পরামর্শক মুফতি আবদুল্লাহ মাসুম, ফাউন্ডার ডিরেক্টর, আইএফএ কনসালটেন্সি। বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল (অব.) প্রফেসর ড. এ কে এম ইকবাল আজিম, ডিন, স্কুল অব বিজনেস, ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি। অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির প্রতিষ্ঠাতা চেয়ারম্যান ও বোর্ড অব ট্রাস্টিজের সদস্য জনাব আবুল কাসেম হায়দার। অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তব্য দেন ড. On April 20, 2026, the campus of Eastern University was beautifully adorned with colors and joy as we celebrated "Bangla Noboborsho - 1433". Organized by the Eastern University Cultural Club, the vibrant day-long festival brought together students, teachers, officials, staff, and alumni in a festive atmosphere. Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Farid A. Sobhani graced the occasion as Chief Guest and emphasized that Pohela Boishakh is a day to reconnect with our roots and nurture our culture and human values. Treasurer Prof. Md. Shamsul Huda and Registrar Dr. Abul Bashar Khan also shared inspiring words, encouraging everyone to embrace our rich heritage. The celebration featured a colorful Boishakhi Mela, captivating cultural performances, flash mob, bioscope, nagordola, and delightful food & handicraft stalls. Students in traditional attire added extra vibrancy to the entire campus.

An inspiring and insightful session with our proud alumnus, Monsurul Haque Rased, former BSEC President and a distinguished BBA 51st batch student of Eastern University, who is currently building a successful corporate career in Japan. During the session, Rased shared his remarkable journey of establishing a career in Japan—covering the complete roadmap, including skill preparation, job search strategies, and the step-by-step process of applying for opportunities and securing a visa. His real-life experiences and practical insights provided clear direction and motivation for our current students who aspire to build an international career. The program was enriched with an engaging Q&A session, where students actively interacted and gained valuable guidance tailored to their career goals. It truly served as a meaningful platform for learning, inspiration, and connection with a successful member of the BBA family. We were also honored by the presence of Syed Habib Anwar Pasha, Head of the Department and Associate Professor, and Dr. Farhana Khan, Coordinator of BSEC Club, Director (IFBI), and Associate Professor. Their presence added great value and prestige to the session. A heartfelt thank you to our proud alumnus, Rased, for sharing his journey and guiding our students with such clarity and inspiration. The program was attended by the Treasurer, Registrar, Deans, Department Heads, Faculty Members, and Staffs, making it a meaningful and engaging session. After the workshop, everyone joined together for a grand Iftar Mahfil and Doa, sharing the spirit of unity and blessings of the holy month of Ramadan.

On 25th February 2026, we had the privilege of arranging a heartfelt initiative — “Ramadan Iftar with Orphans & Quiz Contest.” It was not just an Iftar; it was a beautiful gathering filled with compassion, learning, and shared smiles. We were honored to sit together with orphan children, break our fast as one family, and organize an Islamic Quiz Competition specially for them. Seeing their enthusiasm, confidence, and bright smiles truly made the evening unforgettable. Three talented participants were awarded prizes for their outstanding performance, but in truth, every child present was a winner in spirit. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Syed Habib Anwar Pasha, Head of the Department & Associate Professor, and Rifat Hasan Riyad, Lecturer, for taking time out of their busy schedules to join us and share this special Iftar. A special note of appreciation goes to Professor Brigadier General Dr. A K M Iqbal Azim, Dean & Professor, and Farhana Khan, Associate Professor & Coordinator of BSEC. Although they could not be physically present due to personal commitments, their continuous support and guidance from a distance played a vital role in making this program successful. Heartfelt thanks to all the dedicated BSEC members whose hard work, coordination, and sincerity turned this noble vision into reality. And special appreciation to the members who were present and made the evening even more vibrant and memorable with their active participation. Ramadan teaches us empathy, unity, and gratitude. The students of the Department of Business Administration, Eastern University of Bangladesh, participated in a study tour to Cox’s Bazar. During this period, the students had the opportunity to explore renowned natural attractions, scenic hills, pristine beaches, and historically significant locations, gaining a deeper understanding of the cultural and environmental diversity of Bangladesh. Alongside their academic exposure, the students engaged with local traditions, customs, and lifestyles, and experienced the region’s distinctive culinary heritage, which further enriched their cultural perspective. This study tour served as a valuable platform for experiential learning beyond the classroom, fostering teamwork, curiosity, leadership, and cultural awareness among the participants. The Department of Business Administration extends its sincere gratitude to the university authorities for their valuable support and guidance in organizing this successful and inspiring program.
