‘ক্যাম্পাস টু কর্পোরেট’ প্রতিপাদ্যকে সামনে রেখে ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটিতে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়ে গেল দিনব্যাপী ‘স্কিল অ্যান্ড এমপ্লয়েবিলিটি সামিট ২০২৬’। শনিবার (১৫ আগস্ট) আয়োজিত এ সামিটের মূল লক্ষ্য ছিল শিক্ষার্থীদের প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক শিক্ষা ও কর্পোরেট দুনিয়ার মধ্যকার দূরত্ব কমিয়ে তাদের চাকরির বাজারের জন্য আরও দক্ষ ও প্রস্তুত করে তোলা। সামিটে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে অনুপ্রেরণামূলক বক্তৃতা প্রদান করেন ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির ভাইস চ্যান্সেলর প্রফেসর ড. ফরিদ আহমদ সোবহানী। উদ্বোধনী পর্বে স্বাগত বক্তব্য দেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ব্যবসায় প্রশাসন বিভাগের ডিন প্রফেসর ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল ড. এ কে এম ইকবাল আজিম ও ট্রেজারার প্রফেসর মো. শামসুল হুদা। সামিটের অন্যতম আকর্ষণ ছিল বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠানের জব অফার। দেশের বিভিন্ন খ্যাতনামা প্রতিষ্ঠান এতে অংশগ্রহণ করে। শিক্ষার্থীরা সরাসরি প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর বুথে গিয়ে তাদের পছন্দের পদ ও সম্ভাব্য কর্মসংস্থানের জন্য সিভি জমা দেওয়ার সুযোগ পান। অংশগ্রহণকারী প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো পরবর্তীতে জমা পড়া সিভিগুলো যাচাই-বাছাই করে সম্ভাব্য শূন্যপদের জন্য যোগ্য প্রার্থীদের নির্বাচন করবে। সামিটের সার্বিক কার্যক্রম পরিচালনার দায়িত্ব পালন করে খ্যাতনামা চাকরির প্ল্যাটফর্ম স্কিল জবস। শুধু চাকরির সুযোগ নয়, শিক্ষার্থীদের দক্ষতা বৃদ্ধির ওপরও বিশেষ গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হয় সামিটে।দিনব্যাপী বিভিন্ন অধিবেশনে দেশের বিভিন্ন খাতের অভিজ্ঞ কর্পোরেট পেশাজীবীরা অংশ নেন। তাঁরা শিক্ষার্থীদের সিভি লেখার কৌশল, চাকরির সাক্ষাৎকারে নিজেকে উপস্থাপন, কর্মক্ষেত্রে প্রয়োজনীয় দক্ষতা, নেতৃত্ব, দলগত কাজ, ক্যারিয়ার পরিকল্পনা এবং আধুনিক কর্পোরেট পরিবেশের উপযোগী পেশাগত দক্ষতা নিয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ও তথ্যবহুল দিকনির্দেশনা দেন। আলোচনায় শিক্ষার্থীদের ভবিষ্যৎ কর্মজীবনের জন্য প্রস্তুত করা, কর্মক্ষেত্রে প্রয়োজনীয় দক্ষতা অর্জন, ব্যক্তিগত ব্র্যান্ড তৈরি, উদ্ভাবনী চিন্তাভাবনা, প্রবৃদ্ধিমুখী মানসিকতা, আত্মসচেতনতা ও কর্মসংস্থানযোগ্যতা বাড়ানোর মতো গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয় উঠে আসে। এর মাধ্যমে শিক্ষার্থীরা একাডেমিক শিক্ষার পাশাপাশি বাস্তব কর্মক্ষেত্রের চাহিদা ও প্রত্যাশা সম্পর্কে প্রত্যক্ষ ধারণা লাভের সুযোগ পান। সমাপনী পর্বে ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির রেজিস্ট্রার ড. আবুল বাশার খান, এডমিশন বিভাগের পরিচালক (ইনচার্জ) ও সহযোগী অধ্যাপক আবু মো. আবদুল্লাহ এবং বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের স্টুডেন্ট এফেয়ার্স ও প্লেসমেন্ট অফিসের উপপরিচালক কে. এম. মনিরুল ইসলাম বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন। পরে আয়োজক কমিটির পক্ষ থেকে ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন ও অতিথিদের সম্মাননা প্রদানের মাধ্যমে সামিটের সমাপ্তি হয়।

The Department of Business Administration, Eastern University, successfully organized the Intra-Department Football Tournament – Season 2 at the Eastern University playground, bringing together students in an exciting celebration of teamwork, competition, and sportsmanship. Five teams participated in the tournament and demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm, determination, and team spirit throughout the competition. After a highly competitive final match, Invictus United emerged victorious, defeating Black Pearl to claim the championship title. The prize-giving ceremony was graced by Honourable Vice-Chancellor of Eastern University, Professor Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, as the Chief Guest. He handed over the prizes to the champions and runners-up and congratulated all the participating teams for their outstanding performance. Professor Brigadier General Dr. A K M Iqbal Azim, Dean, School of Business, attended the ceremony as the Special Guest. The ceremony was presided over by Habib Anwar Pasha, Head, Department of Business Administration, who appreciated the students’ enthusiasm and highlighted the importance of extracurricular activities in developing leadership, teamwork, discipline, and camaraderie. Special appreciation goes to Md. Balayet Hossen and Rifat Hasan Riyad, Lecturers, Department of Business Administration, for their dedicated efforts and instrumental role in successfully facilitating the tournament. শনিবার ৮ আগষ্ট ২০২৬ ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটিতে ‘বাংলাদেশে ইসলামী অর্থায়ন, ব্যাংকিং ও বীমার সম্ভাবনা, চ্যালেঞ্জ ও ভবিষ্যৎ’ শীর্ষক এক সেমিনার অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় ভাইস-চ্যান্সেলর প্রফেসর ড. ফরিদ আহমদ সোবহানীর সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠিত সেমিনারে দেশের ইসলামী অর্থায়ন, ব্যাংকিং ও বীমা খাতের বর্তমান অবস্থা, সম্ভাবনা, চ্যালেঞ্জ এবং ভবিষ্যৎ করণীয় নিয়ে আলোচনা হয়। অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন আল-আরাফাহ ইসলামী ব্যাংক পিএলসির পরিচালক ও ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির বোর্ড অব ট্রাস্টিজের সদস্য ইঞ্জিনিয়ার খন্দকার মেসবাহ উদ্দিন আহমেদ। সেমিনারে সম্মানিত অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তব্য দেন যুক্তরাজ্যের ম্যানচেস্টার বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অর্থনীতি বিভাগের সহযোগী অধ্যাপক ড. এম. ইমরানুল হক। মূল বক্তব্য উপস্থাপন করেন জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অর্থনীতি বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. তারেক মুহাম্মদ শামসুল আরেফিন। অনুষ্ঠানে স্বাগত বক্তব্য দেন সেমিনারের সঞ্চালক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের রেজিস্ট্রার ড. আবুল বাশার খান। এছাড়া বক্তব্য দেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ট্রেজারার প্রফেসর মো. শামসুল হুদা এবং ব্যবসায় প্রশাসন বিভাগের ডিন প্রফেসর ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল একেএম ইকবাল আজিম। সেমিনারে ইসলামী ব্যাংকিং ও বীমা খাতের বিভিন্ন দিক নিয়ে বক্তব্য দেন এবি ব্যাংক পিএলসির কাকরাইল ইসলামী ব্যাংকিং শাখার সিনিয়র ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট ও শাখা ব্যবস্থাপক ফরিদ আহম্মদ ফকির, ট্রাস্ট ব্যাংক পিএলসির মিরপুর ডিওএইচএস শাখার ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট ও শাখা ব্যবস্থাপক শাহ আবুল বাশার, ট্রাস্ট ব্যাংক পিএলসির ইসলামী ব্যাংকিং বিভাগের ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট ও ব্যবস্থাপক মোহাম্মদ শাহ কামাল, জেনিথ ইসলামী লাইফ ইন্স্যুরেন্স পিএলসির ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট ও হেড অব গ্রুপ অ্যান্ড হেলথ ইন্স্যুরেন্স মো. আনোয়ার হোসাইন সরকার, জেনিথ ইসলামী লাইফ ইন্স্যুরেন্স পিএলসির এসইভিপি (এইচআর) ও কোম্পানি সেক্রেটারি আব্দুর রহমান, মানারাত ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটির অর্থনীতি বিভাগের সহযোগী অধ্যাপক ড. মোহাম্মদ মিজানুর রহমান এবং ইউসিবির আশুলিয়া শাখার এক্সিকিউটিভ অফিসার ও অপারেশন ম্যানেজার মোহাম্মদ ফেরদৌস আহমেদসহ সংশ্লিষ্ট খাতের আরও অনেকে। আলোচনায় বক্তারা বলেন, বাংলাদেশের ইসলামী ব্যাংকিং খাতের অন্যতম বড় চ্যালেঞ্জ হলো দক্ষ ও প্রশিক্ষিত মানবসম্পদের ঘাটতি। ইসলামী ব্যাংকিং ও ইসলামী অর্থায়ন বিষয়ে প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক শিক্ষা ও বিশেষায়িত প্রশিক্ষণ গ্রহণকারী জনবল এখনো তুলনামূলকভাবে কম। ফলে এ খাতে প্রয়োজনীয় দক্ষ ও অভিজ্ঞ পেশাজীবী খুঁজে পাওয়া কঠিন হচ্ছে। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় পর্যায়ে ইসলামী ব্যাংকিং, ইসলামী অর্থায়ন, শরিয়াহভিত্তিক ব্যাংকিং ও বীমা বিষয়ে শিক্ষা ও গবেষণার সুযোগ সম্প্রসারণের মাধ্যমে এই ঘাটতি পূরণ করা সম্ভব বলে বক্তারা মত দেন। বক্তারা বলেন, ইসলামী ব্যাংকিংয়ের মূল ভিত্তি শরিয়াহ নীতিমালা, নৈতিকতা, সততা ও আমানতদারিতা। তাই এ খাতে শুধু ব্যাংকিং ও আর্থিক জ্ঞানসম্পন্ন জনবল নয়, ইসলামী অর্থব্যবস্থার মূলনীতি ও মূল্যবোধ সম্পর্কে সম্যক জ্ঞানসম্পন্ন পেশাজীবী তৈরি করা জরুরি। ইসলামী ব্যাংকিংয়ের কার্যক্রমে শরিয়াহর নীতিমালা যথাযথভাবে অনুসরণ ও বাস্তবায়নের ওপর বিশেষ গুরুত্বারোপ করা হয়। সেমিনারে ইসলামী ব্যাংকিং খাতে নৈতিক ও দায়িত্বশীল মানবসম্পদ গড়ে তোলার বিষয়টিও গুরুত্ব পায়। বক্তারা বলেন, একজন ব্যাংকারের পেশাগত দক্ষতার পাশাপাশি ব্যক্তিগত সততা, নৈতিকতা ও দায়িত্বশীলতা থাকা অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। ঋণখেলাপি, মাদকাসক্তি বা অন্যান্য অনৈতিক কর্মকাণ্ডের সঙ্গে সংশ্লিষ্ট ব্যক্তিদের মাধ্যমে একটি নৈতিক ও শরিয়াহভিত্তিক আর্থিক ব্যবস্থা পরিচালনা করা কঠিন। তাই দক্ষতার পাশাপাশি সৎ, নৈতিক ও দায়িত্বশীল পেশাজীবী তৈরির ওপর গুরুত্ব দিতে হবে। আলোচনায় বিশেষভাবে উল্লেখ করা হয়, ইসলামী ব্যাংকিং শুধু মুসলমানদের জন্য কোনো ব্যাংকিং ব্যবস্থা নয়। এর সেবা ও আর্থিক সুবিধা ধর্ম-বর্ণ নির্বিশেষে সব মানুষের জন্য উন্মুক্ত। একজন অমুসলিম গ্রাহকও ইসলামী ব্যাংকের বিভিন্ন সেবা গ্রহণ করতে পারেন। তাই ইসলামী ব্যাংকিংয়ের নৈতিক ও অর্থনৈতিক সুফল বৃহত্তর জনগোষ্ঠীর কাছে পৌঁছে দেওয়ার ওপর বক্তারা গুরুত্বারোপ করেন। বক্তারা আরও বলেন, দেশের অর্থনীতিতে ইসলামী ব্যাংকিং ও ইসলামী অর্থায়নের ভূমিকা আরও বিস্তৃত করার জন্য দক্ষ মানবসম্পদ উন্নয়ন, গবেষণা বৃদ্ধি, শরিয়াহ নীতিমালার যথাযথ প্রয়োগ, সুশাসন, প্রযুক্তির ব্যবহার এবং বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ও আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠানের মধ্যে কার্যকর সহযোগিতা প্রয়োজন। সেমিনারে ইসলামী বীমা বা তাকাফুল খাতের সম্ভাবনা নিয়েও আলোচনা হয়। বাংলাদেশের ক্রমবর্ধমান অর্থনীতি ও পরিবর্তিত আর্থিক চাহিদার সঙ্গে সামঞ্জস্য রেখে ইসলামী অর্থায়ন, ব্যাংকিং ও বীমা খাতে নতুন পণ্য ও সেবা চালুর মাধ্যমে অর্থনৈতিক কর্মকাণ্ডে আরও বেশি মানুষকে সম্পৃক্ত করার সুযোগ রয়েছে বলে বক্তারা মত দেন। সেমিনারে ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থী, ব্যাংকিং ও আর্থিক খাতের পেশাজীবী এবং আমন্ত্রিত অতিথিরা অংশগ্রহণ করেন। আলোচনায় বাংলাদেশের ইসলামী অর্থায়ন, ব্যাংকিং ও বীমা খাতের বর্তমান অবস্থা, সম্ভাবনা, চ্যালেঞ্জ এবং ভবিষ্যৎ করণীয় নিয়ে মতবিনিময় করা হয়। জেনিথ ইসলামী লাইফ ইন্স্যুরেন্স পিএলসি এর সহযোগিতায় সেমিনারটির আয়োজন করে ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির ইসলামী অর্থায়ন, ব্যাংকিং ও বীমা কেন্দ্র। অনুষ্ঠানটির সার্বিক তত্ত্বাবধায়নে ছিলো আইএফবিআই এর পরিচালক ও এসোসিয়েট প্রফেসর ড. ফারহানা খান এবং বিজনেস এডমিনিস্ট্রেশন বিভাগের প্রভাষক রিফাত হাসান রিয়াদ।

ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির সামার ট্রাইমিস্টার ২০২৬-এর নবীনবরণ অনুষ্ঠান আজ, ২৭ জুন ২০২৬, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের নিজস্ব ক্যাম্পাস, আশুলিয়ায় অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ফরিদ আহমদ সোবহানী। অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন দেশের বিশিষ্ট চিন্তাবিদ প্রফেসর ড. সলিমুল্লাহ খান, ইতিহাস ও দর্শন বিভাগ, নর্থ সাউথ ইউনিভার্সিটি। বিশেষ অতিথি ছিলেন ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির বোর্ড অব ট্রাস্টিজের চেয়ারম্যান ব্যারিস্টার সাফায়েত মোহাম্মদ রাজু। প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে প্রফেসর ড. সলিমুল্লাহ খান বলেন, উচ্চশিক্ষায় মাতৃভাষা বাংলার ব্যবহার বর্তমানে অত্যন্ত সীমিত; অথচ শিক্ষার গুণগত উন্নয়ন এবং কার্যকর জ্ঞানার্জনের জন্য মাতৃভাষার ব্যবহার অপরিহার্য। তিনি আরও বলেন, দেশের প্রয়োজন অনুযায়ী শিল্পায়ন না হওয়ায় কাঙ্ক্ষিত কর্মসংস্থান সৃষ্টি হচ্ছে না, ফলে বেকারত্বের সমস্যাও রয়ে যাচ্ছে। তিনি প্রাকৃতিক পরিবেশে গড়ে ওঠা ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি ক্যাম্পাসের সঙ্গে রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের শান্তিনিকেতনের তুলনা করেন। এছাড়া তিনি নবীন শিক্ষার্থীদের জ্ঞানচর্চা, মানবিক মূল্যবোধের বিকাশ এবং আলোকিত জীবন গঠনে আত্মনিয়োগ করার আহ্বান জানান। সভাপতির বক্তব্যে উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ফরিদ আহমদ সোবহানী শিক্ষার্থীদের নৈতিক মূল্যবোধে উজ্জীবিত হয়ে দেশ ও সমাজের কল্যাণে সুনাগরিক হিসেবে নিজেদের গড়ে তোলার আহ্বান জানান। তিনি শিক্ষার্থীদের এ মর্মে শপথ করান যে, তারা কোনো অবস্থাতেই তাদের পিতা-মাতাকে বৃদ্ধাশ্রমে পাঠাবে না। তিনি বলেন, পিতা-মাতার সন্তুষ্টিই একজন সন্তানের জীবনে সফলতার অন্যতম প্রধান চাবিকাঠি। বিশেষ অতিথির বক্তব্যে ব্যারিস্টার সাফায়েত মোহাম্মদ রাজু নবীন শিক্ষার্থীদের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় জীবনের প্রতিটি মুহূর্ত উপভোগ করার পাশাপাশি পড়াশোনা এবং দক্ষতা উন্নয়নে সক্রিয়ভাবে অংশগ্রহণের আহ্বান জানান। তিনি বলেন, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় জীবনই একজন শিক্ষার্থীর ভবিষ্যৎ গঠনের অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সময়, তাই এ সময়কে যথাযথভাবে কাজে লাগাতে হবে। অনুষ্ঠানে আরও বক্তব্য রাখেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ট্রেজারার প্রফেসর মো. শামসুল হুদা, রেজিস্ট্রার ড. আবুল বাশার খান এবং বিভিন্ন অনুষদের ডিনবৃন্দ। অনুষ্ঠানে স্বাগত বক্তব্য দেন ওরিয়েন্টেশন অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজক কমিটির কনভেনর ও ইংরেজি বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান মোহাম্মদ রফিউসসান। এ সময় বিভিন্ন বিভাগের প্রধান, শিক্ষক, কর্মকর্তা, কর্মচারী, অভিভাবক এবং নবীন শিক্ষার্থীরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। অনুষ্ঠানে নবীন শিক্ষার্থীদের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের একাডেমিক কার্যক্রম, শিক্ষার্থী সহায়তা সেবা, বিভিন্ন ক্লাবের কার্যক্রম এবং ক্যাম্পাসের বিভিন্ন সুযোগ-সুবিধা সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত ধারণা প্রদান করা হয়। অনুষ্ঠান শেষে শিক্ষার্থীদের অংশগ্রহণে এক মনোজ্ঞ সাংস্কৃতিক পরিবেশনা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

This initiative was conducted under the supervision of their course instructor, Rifat Hasan Riyad, Lecturer in Finance, Department of business administration, Eastern University. The primary objective of this visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the operational, managerial, and financial aspects of the banking sector, thereby complementing their theoretical knowledge with real-world insights. Throughout the visit, students engaged in meaningful observations and discussions that enabled them to develop a deeper understanding of modern banking operations and financial services, gain insights into customer relationship management and service delivery practices, observe organizational structures and professional workplace environments, relate academic concepts to practical financial decision-making processes. Such experiential learning opportunities are integral to academic development, as they foster critical thinking, professional awareness, and a comprehensive understanding of industry dynamics. The Department extends its sincere appreciation to the participating institutions for their cooperation and to the faculty members for their continuous dedication to enhancing student learning experiences.

School of Business of Eastern University recently organized an Industrial Visit on 29th April, 2026 for a group of 30 enthusiastic 1st Semester students of Spring-26 to Indet Group (Adzi Trims Ltd.), Dautia, Kalampur, Dhamrai as a part of their practical learning experience. It was a truly insightful and successful event! The visit was directed and motivated by Prof. Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Honorable Vice Chancellor, Eastern University and guided by Prof. Brigadier General Dr. A K M Iqbal Azim, ndc, psc, G+ (Retd), Dean, School of Business and Habib Anwar Pasha, Head, Department of Business Administration. It was supervised by Dr. Farhana Khan, Director (IFBI)&Associate Professor, and Coordinate by Fozia Rahman, Assistant Professor, School of Business. Special thanks are extended to them as well as to our dedicated faculty members and staffs for their excellent coordination and support in making this program possible. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Al Shahriar Ahmed, BoT for his kind guidance, inspiration and continuous support in connecting our students with real-world industry practices and the industry authority for their warm welcome and valuable guidance throughout the visit. দুই দিনব্যাপী টানটান উত্তেজনাপূর্ণ এই টুর্নামেন্টে আবারও চ্যাম্পিয়ন হয়েছে কম্পিউটার সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং (CSE) বিভাগ। ফাইনালে ইলেকট্রিক্যাল অ্যান্ড ইলেকট্রনিক্স ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং (EEE) বিভাগকে হারিয়ে হাড্ডাহাড্ডি লড়াইয়ের মধ্য দিয়ে শিরোপা নিশ্চিত করে CSE দল। এবারের টুর্নামেন্টে অংশগ্রহণ করে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মোট ৭টি বিভাগ—CSE, EEE, Civil, Law, Pharmacy, English এবং BBA। টুর্নামেন্টটির স্পন্সর ছিল ক্লেমন। পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠানে মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ফরিদ আহমদ সোবহানী বিজয়ীদের হাতে ট্রফি তুলে দেন। এ সময় রেজিস্ট্রার, ডিনবৃন্দ, বিভাগীয় প্রধানগণ, শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থী, কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মার্লিন ট্যুরস এন্ড ট্রাভেলস এর চেয়ারম্যান জুয়েল রেজোয়ানি মিয়াহ। এছাড়া ক্লেমন এর পক্ষ থেকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন গাজী আলমগীর। এই আয়োজনটি পরিচালিত হয় স্টুডেন্ট অ্যাফেয়ার্স ও প্লেসমেন্ট বিভাগ-এর উপ-পরিচালক কে. এম. মনিরুল ইসলাম-এর তত্ত্বাবধানে এবং সহযোগিতায় ছিল ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি গেমস ও স্পোর্টস ক্লাব। ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি কর্তৃপক্ষ ভবিষ্যতেও এ ধরনের আয়োজন অব্যাহত রাখার আশা প্রকাশ করেছে।

ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি দেশে প্রথমবারের মতো ইসলামী ফাইন্যান্স, ব্যাংকিং ও ইন্স্যুরেন্স বিষয়ে স্বল্প খরচে মানসম্মত বিবিএ ও এমবিএ প্রোগ্রাম চালু করেছে। এ প্রেক্ষাপটে “বাংলাদেশে ইসলামী ফাইন্যান্স, ব্যাংকিং ও ইন্স্যুরেন্স" শীর্ষক এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সেমিনার গতকাল ২৫/০৪/২০২৬ইং তারিখে ঢাকায় অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। দেশের প্রেক্ষাপটে ইসলামী অর্থনীতি, ব্যাংকিং ও বীমা খাতের সম্ভাবনা, চ্যালেঞ্জ এবং ভবিষ্যৎ দিকনির্দেশনা নিয়ে আয়োজিত এ সেমিনারে সংশ্লিষ্ট খাতের বিশিষ্টজন, শিক্ষাবিদ ও শিক্ষার্থীরা অংশগ্রহণ করেন। ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ফরিদ আহমদ সোবহানীর সভাপতিত্বে সেমিনারের মূল প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেন ইসলামী অর্থনীতিবিদ ও শরিয়াহ পরামর্শক মুফতি আবদুল্লাহ মাসুম, ফাউন্ডার ডিরেক্টর, আইএফএ কনসালটেন্সি। বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল (অব.) প্রফেসর ড. এ কে এম ইকবাল আজিম, ডিন, স্কুল অব বিজনেস, ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি। অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির প্রতিষ্ঠাতা চেয়ারম্যান ও বোর্ড অব ট্রাস্টিজের সদস্য জনাব আবুল কাসেম হায়দার। অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তব্য দেন ড. (মুফতি) ইউসুফ সুলতান, ফাউন্ডার ও সিইও, এডিএল অ্যাডভাইজরি, মালয়েশিয়া এবং বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের শরিয়াহ অ্যাডভাইজরি বোর্ডের সদস্য। সেমিনারে আরো বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন ড. কে. এম. জাকির হোসেন, সহকারী প্রোগ্রাম পরিচালক, বাংলাদেশ ইনস্টিটিউট অব ইসলামিক ফাইন্যান্স; মোঃ হাবিবুর রহমান, সিনিয়র এক্সিকিউটিভ ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট, ইসলামী ব্যাংক; এবং ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির রেজিস্ট্রার ড. আবুল বাশার খান। সম্মানিত অতিথিদের মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্যভাবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সেন্টার ফর ইসলামিক ইকোনমি স্টাডিজ-এর ভাইস প্রিন্সিপাল মুফতি আহসানুল ইসলাম; মালিকুল মুল্ক মাদ্রাসার ভাইস প্রিন্সিপাল মুফতি সাজ্জাদুর রহমান; জামি'আ মুহাম্মাদিয়া ইসলামিয়া মাদ্রাসার মুফতি আব্দুল মালেক; এবং জামিয়া রাহমানিয়া আরাবিয়া মাদ্রাসার মুফতি তাওহিদুল ইসলাম। বক্তারা বলেন, বাংলাদেশের ক্রমবর্ধমান অর্থনীতিতে ইসলামী ফাইন্যান্স, ব্যাংকিং ও ইন্স্যুরেন্স খাতের গুরুত্ব দিন দিন বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। এই খাতের টেকসই উন্নয়নের জন্য দক্ষ মানবসম্পদ তৈরি, গবেষণা জোরদার এবং একাডেমিয়া ও শিল্পখাতের মধ্যে কার্যকর সংযোগ স্থাপন অপরিহার্য। সেমিনারটি ব্যাংকার, শিক্ষাবিদ, গবেষক ও ইসলামী স্কলারদের মধ্যে জ্ঞান বিনিময় ও নেটওয়ার্কিংয়ের একটি কার্যকর প্ল্যাটফর্ম তৈরি করে। অংশগ্রহণকারীরা এ ধরনের আয়োজনকে সময়োপযোগী উল্লেখ করে ভবিষ্যতেও এ ধরনের উদ্যোগ অব্যাহত রাখার আহ্বান জানান।
