Eastern University (EU) inaugurated the Eastern University Research Society (EURS), marking a significant difference in advancing research and innovation at the university. The ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor of Eastern University, as Chief Guest, who unveiled the EURS logo. In his address, he highlighted the vital role of research in higher education and described the society as a ânew beginningâ for fostering innovation, knowledge-sharing, and academic excellence at EU. Special Guests included Dr. Abul Bashar Khan, Registrar, Prof. Dr. M. Sayedur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, and Prof. Dr. Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, who encouraged students to actively participate in research activities. As part of the program, Dr. Md. Zahurul Haq, Associate Professor, Department of Law, conducted a keynote workshop on âHow to Write a Conference Paper,â designed to guide young researchers in developing strong academic writing skills for national and international platforms. The event was chaired by Dr. Abu Bin Ihsan, Chairperson, Department of Pharmacy, and Chief Coordinator of EURS, who shared the societyâs vision and future plans while inviting students and faculty members to contribute to building a robust research culture at EU. The launch of EURS reflects Eastern Universityâs commitment to becoming a hub of research and innovation, empowering its community to explore, create, and contribute meaningfully to the global academic arena.

The Business & Social Entrepreneurship Club of Eastern University proudly hosted its signature program, âFrom Campus to Corporate: Club Orientation & Career Seminar.â The event was designed to act as a meaningful bridge between classroom learning and the professional world, equipping students with practical insights into skills, mindset, and career opportunities. Through engaging orientation sessions, thought-provoking discussions, and interactive activities, participants connected with mentors, exchanged ideas, and drew inspiration for both personal and professional growth. We were honored to have the presence of Professor Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Vice Chancellor of Eastern University, as Chief Guest. The program was further enriched by the esteemed participation of Professor Dr. M. Sayedur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, Syed Habib Anwar Pasha, Chairperson of the Department of Business Administration, and Associate Professor Farhana Khan, Club Coordinator. A special highlight was welcoming Md. Shahrir Habib, Senior Operations Manager at Augmedix Bangladesh and a distinguished alumnus from our very first BBA batch, who joined us as Special Guest and shared his valuable experiences. The vibrant engagement of our students truly brought the seminar to life, making it an inspiring occasion that celebrated both learning and aspiration.

The Faculty of Business Administration at Eastern University warmly welcomed the newly admitted students of the Summer 2025 semester at a Freshersâ Reception held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in the Rezakul Haidar Hall. The event introduced the new students to the departmentâs core values, mission, academic structure, and institutional guidelines, providing a solid foundation for their academic journey ahead. Professor Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Vice Chancellor of Eastern University, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The program was presided over by Syed Habib Anwar Pasha, Chairperson of the Faculty of Business Administration. In his welcome speech, Syed Habib Anwar Pasha highlighted the departmentâs legacy of academic excellence and long-standing commitment to quality education. Faculty members also introduced themselves, fostering early engagement with the freshers. The focus was to help students navigate university systems, covering key functions like course registration, academic tracking, and financial management. Dr. Sobhani delivered an inspiring address, underscoring the importance of academic discipline, effective communication, and collaborative learning. He encouraged students to strive for intellectual growth and maintain high academic standards. The program was coordinated by Farhana Khan, Associate Professor in the Faculty, and hosted by Afridi Hasan alongside Adety Sarker, two sincere students from the faculty. The event had a business quiz session along with engaging activity. It was concluded with a vote of thanks from Syed Habib Anwar Pasha, who expressed appreciation to the BSEC (Hallmark Club of the Faculty) for their support and wished the new students a successful academic journey at Eastern University.

Freshersâ Reception for Summer 2025 Students Held at Eastern University

Today, Saturday, July 26, 2025, the Freshersâ Reception for the Summer 2025 students was successfully held on the campus of Eastern University. The event was organized to warmly welcome the newly admitted students and was presided over by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Farid A. Sobhani. The Chief Guest of the program was Mr. Niaz Rahim, Group Managing Director of Rahimafrooz Bangladesh Ltd. The event was also graced by the presence of the Guest of Honor, Mr. Md. Maniruzzaman Molla, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Eastern University. Engineer Khondker Mezbah Uddin Ahmed, Former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Eastern University, delivered a speech as a special guest. The ceremony began with a welcome speech by the universityâs Registrar, Dr. Abul Basher Khan. Other notable speakers included Professor Md. Shamsul Huda, Treasurer; Professor Dr. M. Sayedur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration; Professor Dr. Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; Professor Dr. Firoj Ahmed, Advisor to the Faculty of Life Science; Mr. A.B.M. Imdadul Haque Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Law; and Mr. Rofiussan, Chairperson of the Department of English. The speakers emphasized that along with academic excellence, students should also focus on building strong moral character. They noted that students must be prepared to become honest, competent individuals capable of meeting the demands of the modern era. They were encouraged to make their parents proud and to prepare themselves to build a corruption-free and equitable society. During the event, new students were introduced to the university's academic structure, facilities, and important aspects of campus life, all of which will play a significant role at the beginning of their academic journey. The closing remarks were delivered by Dr. Abu Bin Ihsan, Chairperson of the Department of Pharmacy and Convener of the Freshersâ Reception Organizing Committee. He thanked all the guests and participants and officially declared the conclusion of the event. The reception concluded with a vibrant cultural program organized by the universityâs Cultural Club, where Eastern University students showcased their creativity and talent. It was a joyful and inspiring day for the Summer 2025 students as they began their journey in university life. Alongside the newcomers and current students, principals from various colleges, faculty members, staff, and many parents of the new students were also present at the event.

MoA Signed Between Eastern University and Daffodil Response Center

An MoA was signed on 1st July 2025, between Eastern University and the Daffodil Response Center (DRC) at the Eastern University campus, Ashulia Model Town, Dhaka. The agreement aims to strengthen capacity building and institutional branding of Eastern University. Professor Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Vice Chancellor of Eastern University, and Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Chief Executive Officer of the Daffodil Family, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions. This collaboration seeks to enhance institutional capacity through professional engagement and the development of advanced skills among relevant officials. It is expected to contribute to improved enrollment quality, greater empowerment, and stronger collaboration between the two institutions. This milestone agreement marks the beginning of a long-term, impactful partnership that is expected to yield mutual benefits and sustainable success. Seminar on Higher Education and Job Opportunities in Japan held at Eastern University

A seminar titled "Prospects of Higher Studies and International Work Permit Visa in Japan" held on 30th June 2025 at University's Rezakul Haider Hall, Ashulia Model Town, Dhaka. The Chief Guest at the event was Professor Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Vice Chancellor of Eastern University. The Special guests were Mr. Morisu Narita, CEO of Winkle Inc. (Japan), and Mr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, Managing Director of Samaira Group and MP Travels Ltd. The seminar was chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Eastern University. Professor Dr. M. Sayedur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, was also present as a respected guest. Other speakers at the event included Associate Professor Syed Habib Anwar Pasha, Chairperson of the Department of Business Administration, and Ms. Rakhi Roy, Coordinator at Samaira Group. The overall coordination of the event was managed by Mr. K. M. Monirul Islam, Deputy Director of Career Services and International Office and Office of the Student Affairs at the university. At this event, university graduate students Umme Sumaiya Hossain and Ratna Akter Badhon shared their experiences after completing their internships in Japan. They recently returned to the country after finishing their internships in Tokyo, Japan. They encouraged everyone to pursue higher education opportunities in Japan. The speakers shared important information about studying in Japan, how to get a student or work visa, and job opportunities in Japanese companies. The seminar helped students learn about real steps to build a career abroad, especially in Japan. One great example of success is Md. Mansurul Haque Rashed, a recent graduate from the Department of Business Administration. He got a full-time job at Mon Napoleon Co. Ltd. in Japan after completing a competitive internship program. This was possible through the universityâs collaboration with Samaira Group and Othelo Financial Institution, Japan. This success was made possible by the leadership of Prof. Dr. Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Eastern University. This seminar showed Eastern Universityâs strong dedication to helping students build international careers. Many graduates from Eastern University are now studying and working in Japan, making the university proud.

MoU Signed Between Eastern University and ICMAB

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Eastern University (EU) and the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB). The signing ceremony was held on 24th June 2025 at the Conference Hall of Eastern University, Dhaka. The MoU was signed by Professor Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Vice Chancellor on behalf of Eastern University, and Mr. Md. Kausar Alam, Vice President on behalf of ICMAB. The presence at the MoU signing ceremony included the universityâs Deans, Registrar, Chairpersons of departments, and Heads of various administrative sections. Notable attendees were Professor Dr. M. Sayedur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration; Professor Dr. Md. Abbas Ali Khan, Distinguished Professor; Professor Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; Dr. Abul Bashar Khan, Registrar; Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Humayn, Chairperson of the Department of EEE; Professor Ashraf Hossain, Director of IQAC; Dr. Abdur Rahman, Director of IFBI; Syed Habib Anwar Pasha, Chairperson of the Department of Business Administration and Mr. Md. Abdul Maleque, Additional Director and Head of Education Department, ICMAB along with other representatives and officials from both institutions. Under this MoU, the students and graduates of the BBA and MBA programs of Eastern University will be eligible for exemptions up-to six courses at ICMAB. Moreover, based on their academic results at the university, they will receive special scholarships upon admission to the CMA qualification program. Eastern University and ICMAB will also be able to undertake joint academic initiatives, which will be mutually beneficial for both institutions.
