Faculty of Law and EUMCS Successfully Hold Mooting Skills Workshop

The Faculty of Law at Eastern University, in collaboration with the Eastern University Moot Court Society (EUMCS), successfully hosted a workshop titled “Knowing the Nuts and Bolts of the Mooting Vessel: An Introduction to Mooting” on Sunday, 13 April 2025, at Rezakul Haider Hall, Eastern University.

The workshop was designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of mooting and served as a preparatory step for the upcoming 5th Intra-Department Moot Court Competition (IDMCC) 2025. With enthusiastic student participation and guidance from experienced legal professionals, the event turned out to be both informative and inspiring.

Highlights of the Sessions:
* Introduction to Mooting – Led by Tanvir Mahtab Alif, Advocate and Team Member of Champion Jessup Team, 2022
* Fact Analysis and Moot Problem Handling – Conducted by Ismail Ahmmed Chisty, Legal Associate and Moot Finalist.
* Memorial Writing Techniques – Presented by Jubaida Sakin, Research Fellow and two-time Jessup Champion.
* Oral Advocacy Strategies – Conducted by Mahir Chowdhury Abir, Best Mooter at Henry Dunant Moot, 2023-24 and Stetson & Jessup Moot, 2024–25

Technical Sessions Included:
* Rights of Refugees – Conducted by Humaira Binte Faruque, LLM (Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights)
* Public Interest Litigation for Environmental Protection – Conducted by A B M Imdadul Haque Khan, Advocate, Supreme Court and Dean of the Faculty of Law.

The Faculty of Law warmly thanks all the guest speakers, students, and organizers for their efforts in making this event a success. We hope the workshop inspires our students and bolsters them with the confidence and skills to excel in the upcoming IDMCC 2025.
